Dining and Entertainment
At Kinnitty Castle we have four very different and unique restaurants
for you to dine.
- Sli Dala restaurant is a
beautifully decorated dining room which provides breathtaking
views of the castle gardens.
The Sli Dala restaurant's cuisine is a unique blend of modern
Irish dishes and European influences
accentuated by an expertly selected wine list. Relax and unwind
in this soothing candle-lit restaurant.
Monk's Kitchen provides medieval style food in a lively atmosphere.
This is a medieval style restaurant including old-styled crockery
to dine with and goblets to drink from. This restaurant is dedicated
to the friendly Monk ghost who roams The Great Hall of The O'Carroll's.
At this restaurant a Monk serves you a selection of BBQ styled
meats and baked potatoes and you help yourself to delicious soup,
salads and bread. (Please see menu below) Your waitress/ waiter
serves you your dessert. A unique and highly entertaining restaurant
to dine in.
The Great Hall of the O'Carroll's
is perfect for a Wedding reception, conferencing and for medieval
banquets.
A rare treat awaits you at the Great Hall of Kinnitty Castle.
This ancient doors are once again open and the Lords of the Ely
invite you to join in a medieval feast while being entertained
by the bards and musicians of the castle.
On arrival, led by the Chieftain's warpiper, you will enter the
vaulted lower chambers of the Dungeon Bar and there, to the sound
of the harp and the horn you will enjoy refreshments. Then together
with the chieftain' retinue, you will be piped to The Great Hall
of The O'Carroll's where the banquet will begin.
The castle fayre, consisting of four removes is the envy of the
neighbouring hostile territories of Ormond, Thomond and Ossary.
The medieval walls will resound to the strains of pipes, horns,
flutes, and harp while the ladies of the castle sing melodious
chants and dance for your pleasure.
Then enjoy a fabulous feast of barbequed ribs, delicious soup
and a selection of cooked meats and fish and a sumptuous dessert.
The Dungeon Bar remains a vivid
reminder of the castle's colourful past. This bar is candle-lit
and contains an array of historical Irish memorabilia.
This bar is a great place to relax and unwind and enjoy the Irish
party atmosphere listening to traditional Irish music and enjoying
the array of Irish refreshments.
