Fort Royal Hotel
The town of Rathmullan is redolent of an earlier history - when
chieftains and clansmen sailed for Spain and France in the 'Flight
of the Earls'. It is here the Montgomery family showed inspired
judgement when they laid the foundations of Fort Royal Hotel
in 1820. A beautiful situation by the shoreline of Lough Swilly,
Co. Donegal's great sea lake, gives Fort Royal natural advantages
- not only fine views and invigorating air but magnificent sandy
beaches for swimming and sporting. Today, Fort Royal is an impressive
